120 mm airflow shroud for a turned CPU cooler
Custom order · Delivered Jan 2026The NAS in Dean’s server rack turns its CPU 90 degrees, so the air cooler blows upward, with only about 45 mm of room above it. The shroud sits on the cooler’s fan, turns the hot air toward the rear exhaust and keeps it away from the power supply. It mounts with the cooler’s own fan clips.

The project
How it came together
The first version came together in a day. The second dropped the screw-access holes and extended the top of the duct. A slanted back was considered and left out, so nothing would get in the way of the cooler’s airflow.
